Q: What is Abi’s Keeping Spirits Bright?
A: It’s a community movement dedicated to spreading compassion, connection, and hope through holiday lights. By decorating homes and businesses, we aim to spark conversations about mental health, honor those lost to suicide, and remind everyone that their light matters.
Q: What is the vision behind this initiative?
A: Our vision is to create a community illuminated by kindness and resilience. Through holiday lights, we hope to brighten the darkest nights and build a caring environment where every spirit shines.
How to Participate
Q: How do I join the movement?
A: Decorate your home or business with holiday lights and display signage showing your “Keeping Spirits Bright.” Sign up here.
Q: Will my decorated space be featured anywhere?
A: Yes! Participating homes and businesses will be listed on a map in the Go Mystic app, hosted by the Greater Mystic Chamber of Commerce.
Q: Are there sponsorship opportunities?
A: Yes! The light display at UCONN Avery Point wouldn't be possible without sponsors committed to lighting up our community with hope. Contact info@keepingspiritsbright.com for sponsorship information.
Q: Are you raising money or asking for donation?
A: This movement wouldn't be possible without the help of sponsors and the community partners that keep spirits bright all year long. If you are unable to sponsor the display, please consider donating to one of our Community Partners.
Contests and Voting
Q: Is there a contest for decorations?
A: Yes! There are two categories: Residential and Business.
Q: How do I vote?
A: Voting will take place on the Go Mystic app from December 1 through December 11.
Q: When are winners announced?
A: Winners will be announced at the Jingle 5K on December 12.
Light Show at UCONN Avery Point
Q: What is the light show?
A: A free holiday light display at UCONN Avery Point in Groton, CT.
Q: When can I see it?
A: The static lights will be on and ready for viewing beginning December 1, 2026. If you want to see the lights dance, join us Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays after 5. If you want to host a special showing for your large group, contact us at info@keepingspiritsbright.com for more information.
